I am a research psychologist based in the UK where I work as a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Academic Primary Care at the University of Nottingham. My research particularly focuses on how psychological and behavioural factors impact on physical health (and vice versa). My research to date has spanned a range of clinical contexts exploring the role psychological and/or behavioural factors play in: immune function, lung cancer screening, wound healing, infectious disease susceptibility and outcomes, diabetes, and obesity. In recent years, I have led a programme of work developing and evaluating brief pragmatic psychological interventions that can be delivered in a primary care context, as a method of potentially improving immune responses to vaccinations. In addition to the above, I would be very interested to explore opportunities for internationally collaborative research with other attendees – including where the effectiveness particular interventions can be compared across countries.
